About This Course
BSc or Bachelor of Science is a 3-year undergraduate academic degree offered in the Science stream. Candidates who have successfully passed their 10+2 are eligible to apply for the BSc program in top colleges in India. A BSc degree can be studied in both Honors and General courses. The difference is that BSc Hons involves a combination of elective and foundation courses whereas BSc General deals with basic knowledge about BSc.

BSc Admission Process
BSc Admissions 2023 are done on the basis of merit as well as on the basis of entrance exams as well.
- Merit-Based BSc Admission: Top colleges like Mumbai University, Madras Christian College, etc. take admission based on marks obtained in class 12
- Entrance Exam-Based BSc Admission: Universities and colleges like Delhi University, IIT Madras, IGNOU, Chandigarh University, etc. conduct their own entrance exams for BSc admission. CUET is one of the popular entrance exams that is accepted by the majority of public and private Universities in India.
BSc Eligibility
BSc Eligibility criteria are given below, note that it can vary with each college-
- To qualify for a basic BSc program, the student must have received at least a 50% mark in Class XII from a recognized board. Some prestigious universities require 60%.
- The students must have completed higher secondary coursework in foundational topics like math, physics, chemistry, and biology.
- In India, 18 years of age is the minimum requirement for admission to a BSc program.
